Extractions

Gentle removal of comedones (whiteheads and blackheads) proves very beneficial in the treatment of acne. Acne extractions are performed by our dermatologists and aesthetician by using a sterile pen-sized medical device (this procedure should only be performed by a dermatologist or other medical professional). Patients who attempt to extract comedones and drain cysts by squeezing or picking can become infected by staphylococci, streptococci, and other bacteria.
